I found this a Goodwill last week. This fall and winter has been so busy I've been there in ages! I've missed it. And yes I also bought the books in the bag...used self-help books are to me, what crack is to a junkie!

We're going back...back...back to school!
Yesterday, we did a little back to school shopping at my favorite store...I'm assuming since you are reading this blog, and you have a brain, you know what that store is already, but just in case...GOODWILL.
We hit a homerun! For just under $30.00 we bought 5 pairs of shorts for Owen. 1 Nike, 1 Children's Place, 2 unknown brands...but really nice, and his all-time favorite shorts in the world...Milwaukee Brewer shorts by Puma.
In addition to the shorts, we found a new pack of multiplication flash cards, 2 tops for me and a great necklace with 3 little charms. I love it! It's sterling silver, which is pretty much the only metal I wear. It's much like necklaces found at my favorite sterling necklace shop online. Check it out at www.lisaleonardonline.com. Check out the prices, too! My little $5.99 goodwill find would be upwards for $40.00...good find!
P.S. The necklace was held against my leather bag for this picture. Not Mrs. McKeegan leg, in case you wondered.

Books, Books and More Books...
I have a serious Goodwill book obsession! I can't go into a second hand shop without buying at least 1 book. I got all of these yesterday, but 3 of them are gifts for my book club friends. Read the title of the book on top and tell me you are not intrigued! Can't do it, can you?
All these books plus a Gymboree dress for Sophie, a pair of shoes (I wore heels for a presentation and forgot shoes to change in to for my last two classes so I grabbed a crazy pair to soothe my aching feet!) & the best score of all... a UWP sweatshirt. All of this for less than $25.

Tall Corner Shelf...
I walked past this a couple of times not sure I really wanted it or had the right spot for it. It was priced at $39.99. By the time I got home I realized, that in fact yes, I wanted it. I called back down so they could hold it for me for an hour or two until I got a vehicle to haul it home in. FYI: Goodwill will not put things on hold. So after a mad dash back to Platteville here it is and it fit in our living room perfectly.
At first my plan was to paint it right away because it has some weird little stencil design on it, but once it was here it didn't even bother me. It may stay folksy forever!

Aqua Glasswear...
that looks perfect in our bedroom. I painted my bedroom a really pale aqua color, so when looking for accents, I went to my favorite place. All three of these lovelies were under $3.00.
P.S. I got the orange prayer beads from a friend who heard I loved the book Eat, Pray, Love. The rosary was made by an old man in Arena. He gave it to me while I was working at a mealsite last year.

Colorful Aluminum Glasses...
kind of like my grandparents had. Although theirs were stainless steel, so they didn't have the cool colors. .69 cents each, love them.
